Status, in one line
Jefferson County is one of only three Arkansas counties where the FHLB Dallas FORTIFIED Fund Grant is actually taking applications today, through the nonprofit intake partner Communities Unlimited — this is the live path, while the state's own Strengthen Arkansas Homes program is still "coming soon" statewide.
What's actually available here
The Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (FHLB Dallas) FORTIFIED Fund Grant Program provides qualifying Jefferson County households up to $15,000 toward a roof replacement on an existing home, or up to $7,500 toward a FORTIFIED Roof on new construction. Applications are processed through Communities Unlimited, a HUD-connected nonprofit housing organization, not a state agency.
Who qualifies in Jefferson County
- Household income at or below 120% of the area median income for Jefferson County
- The home must be your primary residence
- Eligible applicants are contacted to schedule a home inspection before any work begins
How to apply
Required documents: proof of ID, proof of ownership, and proof of income. No application exists yet for the state-run Strengthen Arkansas Homes program — see the Arkansas program page for that program's status.
